NLC Design #6: Hakuchi
I've been a fan of Hakuchi's (Shohei Otomo) illustrations for a while now - so when I found the above video, I had to share.
When he whips out that sharping I JUMPED!

NLC Design #5: Inventables
Inventables is an amazing site - so amazing that I found out about it from my pal Pee-wee Herman.
This is what they say about themselves...
Inventables is the innovator’s hardware store.
We sell materials that designers, artists, and inventors use to develop new products and push the boundaries of what's possible.
Above is their Thin Wood Veneer, but that they have other amazing things too - they sell LiTriCon!
And the whole Inventables Team went down to Millennium Park one day to take pics!

Embossed at Home
This was made by laser cutting a template and then running it though an embossing mill with gasket rubber which pushed the paper through. So cool.

NLC Design #4: Sergey G. Makarov
Time to venture into the strange...
Sergey G. Makarov has a web site devoted to his work called Hammer.bas.lv - hammer is used to inject some "pep" in the sense of the way people jumps when they hit their thumbs with a hammer.
I found out about Sergey when looking up tensegrity and found his space architecture (models shown above).
So check out Sergey Makarov's site for some really cool stuff.

Links
I've decided to update my links with sites that do custom laser cutting - so if you have any suggestions, let me know.

Labyrinth Head
This I would assume is laser cut from steel, but the scale is very hard to discern from the pic.
