Really very beautiful the way the plants roots are represented -reinforcing the "green" ideology. These were also featured at Kelly Green.

Engraved Leather Book Covers
This is from EngraveYourBook.com which does custom laser engraved leather covers for your moleskin. This is Elephant by Jacob Escobedo (who is apparently creative director of Adult Swim!). The site, and accompanying blog, is run by Joe Mansfield (who sent me the link). The site is based in Portland, Oregon but you can submit you designs online as either pdf, Photoshop, or Illustrator file - and you can become a featured artist and receive free samples and 15% royalties!

Magritte Powerbook
Finally a thoughtful Mac cover etching!
Map Photo Album
A really amazing cover for a photo album. I think it would be so cool to cap off a trip around the world with an album like this to store the photos you would have taken (and printed). And with the landmarks visited etched in place! Needles to say the lettering should have been etched, not cut, but still really cool.

Book Cover
Not sure how it doesn't seem to be burned, but way cool. Why are you there, indeed?

My New Lamp
I ordered this from Etsy.com and it just arrived today. Isn't it amazing? Aren't you jealous? As you can see, the foot/base/flange requires it to be mounted to my desk - well I change my mind a lot, so that's not happening. So what am I to do? Laser cut a part that it can be mounted to so it can then be clamped to my desk - that's what. As soon as I get it done I'll let you know and post some pics (along with about a million other projects I have promised you).
The seller was TheLovelys who took the pic.
Laser Cut Apples
These are by Artschollgirl done for within(Reason). I hate to say this, but wouldn't these be an amazing decorations in little kids' room? Maybe different fruits that help them learn their ABCs? Different animals? Just a thought. And click-the-pic to see more at flickr.

Afro Picks
Laser etched on a skate deck. Super cool, but afro pics always are... By prplment.
Laser Etched Wallet
I've been wondering about laser etching leather. It looks really cool and subtle - despite the poor picture - cool design too. It seems they stained the etching with fabric paint to highlight the work.

Marius Watz - Ornament
Kind of amazing despite looking like a cat's behind. 18" X 18" laser etched plywood.

Andrew F. Scott
I'm kind of obsessed with his work and he does a lot with a laser cutter. This is And Still I Rise laser etched on 17" X 17" wood. The cross contour is amazing - right?

Kenji Kondo's Lighting
Kenji Kondo's lighting plays with shadows in an amazing, if arbitrary, way (I think the effects are serendipitous). At Just Cool he talks of design taking place anywhere as long as you have the internet (and postal service) - cool concept. His works are available for purchase at MadeOnRequest.com.

Coat Hangers
I was googling for some really cool laser cut coat hangers, but sadly, these were all I could find. Why is nobody doing any good ones.
These, which are cool, are by Ingibjorg Hanna and are laser cut from plywood and are available in black, white, and pink (but no natural?).

Readymade and The ANNEX
The ANNEX is the chair I designed for the AIAS Chair Affair (that they didn't like). Read more at ReadyMade and download the instructional pdf that mimics an Ikea booklet. I plan on laser cutting a new seat (as soon as school starts and the laser cutter is back up and running).
Yu Jordy Fu's Cloud Lamps
The Cloud Lamps are laser cut from recycled paper and have a very beautiful, random quality.

Diesel Sweeties Robots
Just prototypes, because they are not in Diesel Sweeties Store. They look to be cut from clear, red, and black acrylic, but what is the back-most one? MDF?

Ribbon Stool
Produced by Cappenelli for Nendo. As far as I can tell the stool is laser cut from a sheet of steel which is then made into a cylinder.
Picture from Chair Blog.
Sound Alalysis Sculpture
Daniel Widrig, Shajay Booshan - Binaural 02, originally uploaded by watz.
By Daniel Widrig and Shajay Booshan. Called Binaural 02 and appears to laser cut from acrylic.
Strangely reminiscent of the work of H.R. Giger.

100th Post...
It came and went if you were wondering.
So, I never found an alternate laser cutter (that sucks) but Otis' will open the 30th and I have three projects to get cut: 2 lamps (mentioned before), a chair seat (I think mentioned it before), and a book cover for my portfolio.
Stay tuned, all should be really cool especially the book cover. It is being made out of Aspen Wood veneer (paperwood) from Hiromi Paper. It is velum like veneer - like nothing I've ever seen!
Phil Harding
Shown is one of Phil Harding's A-series Reactor Sculpture (look under Craft). It is laster cut from birch plywood and is inspired by the behavioral properties of water- such a rippling.
Horse Power
A sculpture by Zadok Ben David (limted edition of 8 from 1999). The horse is laser cut steel.

Manifold Jewelry
More from Alienology.
Wall-E
Really amazing work.
Parts for this were laser cut and it was presented to Pixar chief John Lasseter. Do you see any irony between the plot of Wall-E and cutting down trees to make this?

The Pirate Queen
From Costumearmour.com:
This suit was custom designed and built for the new production which is now preparing for its Broadway opening. Intricately detailed laser cut details adorn this armour masterwork. Sculpted in plaster and clay, vacuum formed in Kydex with laser cut details added and a metallic paint finish applied by our staff of artists.
Zaishu Table
The Zaishu table can also be used as a seat, but sadly does not include storage and the lovely pattern shown above is not available.
The link to Zaishu was found through Ponoko, who called it "High end", which strikes me as odd because it retails for around $300-.

Another Business Card...
What is it about laser cutters that make people want to make business cards. This one is made of bamboo and doesn't fit in a wallet. Read more and buy (LOL) at Ponoko.

Anthony Burrill
I am super excited about this! This is laser cut from acrylic and assembled like a puzzle. It is by graphic designer Anthony Burrill, but sadly his site doesn't seem to talk about this laser cut work - this is from ComputerLove.
Too Cute For Words
But I have a few... Anyway, these are from the blog Life, Craftiness and Everything Else and are the first fully laser cut creations there. dig the nipples on the boy mouse!

Butterfly Maps
This is from artist Joseph Lucien Warren. They are laser cut from maps, but sadly the maps have nothing to do with where that butterfly species is found.
